I truly believe that you and I are more similar than we are different.
We both have things that we want to do, need to do, and despise doing.
We both have regrets, goals, and even anxiety.
Our minds make things up that we take as real, then we see and treat the world, people, and ourselves accordingly.
A hack that works for me is to do everything slowly.
Work and play slowly.
Push your goals further into the future.
Stay in each moment fully focused on each moment… without thinking or doing anything else.
From washing a fork to listening to others…I focus on the moment and what I find is in that moment…
I feel okay and even joy.
So when you do your next SOAP note…
- Do it slowly.
- Do it without interruption or distraction.
- Do it well.
Do everything well and slowly.
