Keep It Simple

Most people don’t know me, even if they think that they do.

“They” think that I’m ambitious.

“They” think that all my decisions start with “What’s in it for me?”

“They” think that making money is what motivates me.

“They” have it and me all wrong.

So by now, I bet you are thinking…

“Ben, if you say that most people think that, then they must be right!”

No… The reason why most people think that is because that is how most people live their lives. They think that most people are like them and that’s why they treat people the way they do.

…and they are right. Most people ARE like that.

Cheap

Selfish

Greedy

There’s saying that I learned from my buddy Joe Polish and it goes something like this…

“IF YOU WANT SOMEONE TO EAT YOUR DOG FOOD,
YOU NEED TO FIRST EAT THEIR DOG FOOD…”

So if you want to succeed, don’t be cheap, don’t be selfish, and don’t be greedy.

Leave some meat on the bone for others.

Be kind.

Be generous.

And if you want something from someone, earn it. Provide value to and for them first.

Lastly, I know that others try to take advantage of me and to some extent, I let them.

At the end of the day, I only risk what I can afford to lose, either emotionally or financially.

You can never go wrong putting others first. Just know that most people are cheap, selfish, and greedy.

So don’t build a business or a life around “most people.”

Like my other friend Dan Kennedy says…

“MOST PEOPLE ARE WRONG ABOUT EVERYTHING.”
