As many of you know, it’s been a tough four months.
Our 14-week-old Golden Retriever puppy, Champ, ate a mushroom in the backyard and died 7 hours later—two days before Christmas.
Makiah was devastated. For 3 years, she’s been begging for a puppy and as much as I hate to admit it, even I loved that dog. That little guy added a lot of joy around here.
…and a little over one month ago, my mom passed away.
Why am I telling you this?
…Because I just realized that it’s been 4 months since my last Chiropractic adjustment.
Why is it important to me that you know this?
Because these days, you just cannot ignore your patients. If you aren’t marketing your practice EVERY SINGLE DAY, you’re going to have a very difficult time building a practice that continues to thrive.
If you don’t market your list properly and continuously, one day you will realize that your practice has seriously stalled or is starting to nose dive….
That your overhead is rising…
That the quality of your new patients have declined…
That nothing seems to “work”…
Listen, I’m 56 years old.
I eat right.
I exercises 5-6 times a week.
My body is in better shape than most Chiropractors who get “checked” daily for “subluxations”.
…and I haven’t been to my Chiros for 4 months!
So here are the take-a-aways:
- Life gets in the way.
- If I was in excruciating pain, I’m sure I would have driven 6 blocks to my Danville Chiropractor or to my Castro Valley Chiropractor who practices just a few miles from my parent’s house. (This is the biggest take-a-way and I’ll dive into this deeper in tomorrow’s “Time To Think” email. So stay tuned for that.)
- If MY Chiropractors knew how to market, I would have been in their offices at least 3 or 4 times in the last 4 months and if they asked me while adjusting me how I am doing and if I felt open enough to tell them what was going on in my life, it wouldn’t have been hard for them to nudge me into more care. I’m sure I would have talked myself into it.
- I value my health more than 99% of the general population and I went 120+ days without getting adjusted.
- And a side note: DON’T BE STUBBORN AND/OR PRIDEFUL- My Chiropractors know me well. They trust me, respect me, and know what I do for a living and yet, neither one of them has asked me about ChiroTrust or has taken the time to research and join ChiroTrust on their own.
So if I haven’t been adjusted in 4 months, why would YOU expect your past patients to come back and refer others more than they do now?
Do I love Chiropractic?
Do I know its worth?
Do I “believe” in Chiropractic?
Yes. Yes. Yes.
But none of that matters. What matters is CONTINUOUSLY having the right message to the right market at the right time, and since we don’t know what people are going through in their lives, we don’t know what the “right time” is. Therefore, we must communicate to them as often as possible—ideally DAILY.
That’s something MY personal Chiropractors have no clue how to pull off.
Yep, being a great “Doctor” isn’t good enough.
You must appropriately market your practice 24-7.
There’s just no way out of it.
…ESPECIALLY for Chiropractors.
