Today I will reveal MY secret to selling—how I “get” someone (a prospect) to engage with me and ultimately buy from me forever.
First, here’s how I do NOT sell…
• I don’t brag about my products/services
• I don’t toot my own horn
• I don’t educate or overcome objections
See, I never liked selling the traditional way. It made me feel uncomfortable. My guess is that it’s because I truly care about people and hate closing them.
I’m a people pleaser.
Oftentimes, it’s a curse and not a blessing.
It can be draining and time consuming.
But it’s also my secret sauce.
My unique ability.
So how do I “sell”?
I merely make sure that I like them to a level that they know, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are liked… by me.
They must hear that voice in their head saying, “Ben likes me”.
It must be that strong.
Of course, not in an inappropriate or creepy way.
Each “lead”, client, and customer must feel respected, heard, and enjoyed by me.
This is how I sell.
It’s never about me or my product.
It’s always about them.
AUTHENTICALLY like each patient, client, or customer.
Make sure they know that you like them… without saying it.
You like being liked right?
Actually, you need to be liked and so do they… by you and before they buy.
Basically, if you don’t like them, they won’t like you.
It was true when you were in kindergarten on the playground and it still holds true today.
We all LOVE to be liked, shared, followed, etc.
Online, offline, all the time.
So don’t sell yourself.
Sell them on themselves by liking them.
This is gives them confidence that all those endorsements and testimonials in your marketing and/or your products and services will work for them as well—that they too are worthy of success.
They must believe in themselves more than they believe in you.
This is how I sell and teach others to do the same.
It sounds silly and simple but for me, it’s sacred and the secret to my success.
