Question Doc…
How many people can you be 100% truthful with, where you can tell them exactly what’s on your mind about them or about you without holding back?
How many people can you be totally honest with and tell them exactly what they really need to hear without the risk of offending them, making them uncomfortable, defensive, or even offensive?
In my experience, not many.
I even choose my words wisely with those who pay for my advice.
Why?
Because these days, it seems like most people are weak and overly sensitive and can easily feel defeated.
If you also carefully pick your battles with your friends and/or family members, then what makes you think you should be any different with your patients?
Patients know you less, trust you less, and are probably less loyal.
Trust me, it’s much easier and effective to only give people what they want than it is to tell them what they need to hear.
It’s the “harsh reality” of dealing with most people.
You will help so many more people by controlling yourself than you ever will trying to control others.
