All my life, I felt different.
A quiet kid.
Observant.
My nickname during high school was “Nervous”.
I didn’t come into my own until I was around 40 years of age, when I allowed myself to be vulnerable.
Here’s what it means for me to be vulnerable…
Laying down my sword and putting others first. Showing authentic interest in them. Humbling myself.
Displaying weakness and humility.
Treating strangers like family.
Sharing with others my losses and struggles more than my wins, successes, and petty boyish interests.
Doing whatever I can to make it easy for others to feel comfortable and confident.
Living and looking “below my means”.
Giving as much time as I can to everyone with whom I come in contact.
“Weakness” is power.
So is self-awareness.
Letting the ego of others do the heavy lifting makes everything in life work better for me.
I prefer the back seat.
The discomfort.
The nosebleed section.
Flip YOUR flaws.
That’s where your power is.
