Doc, Focus on Referrals!!!

Put bluntly, if you can’t reach your collection goals solely from referrals, then you are probably doing something wrong.

Either you are targeting a market that is less likely to refer others or you are trying to get your patients to do what they just aren’t naturally wired to do.

Patients who are referred in by others are better, easier, and more profitable.

They come back.

They refer others.

So why wouldn’t you put most of your focus on referrals? It makes perfect sense.

…And it should make perfect sense that a practice that must continuously replace lost patients is doing something/s wrong.

So how do you get more referrals?

  1. Position your practice properly.
  2. Give patients what they already want—nothing more, nothing less.
  3. Provide a professional environment and experience.
  4. Make their care both easy and convenient.
  5. Never ignore them.
