ACCURATE THINKING STRATEGY: “It Is What It Is”
Want to eliminate most of the stress caused by practice and life?
Do what I do.
Adopt the “It Is What It Is” way of looking at the world as well as the people and situations in it.
Does that mean that you don’t strive to improve things?
No. not at all.
But this does mean that your strategies and solutions must factor in what you cannot change or what isn’t worth changing.
It reminds me of the “Serenity Prayer” authored by the American Theologian Reinhold Niebuhr that includes…
“…give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace…”
