Here’s why…
While you are gone, MOST of your past patients won’t be calling or coming in. Therefore, distracting them with a letter or email about why and when you are leaving won’t be relevant to them.
As for your current patients, certainly there needs to be some communication about it. My suggestion is to let them know two weeks prior via a front desk sign and through your front desk staff.
Personally, I wouldn’t worry about the loss of revenue while you’re gone because I don’t believe there is a loss.
I recommend taking time off 3-4 times a year.
You have a better chance of achieving a net revenue gain per year taking vacations than you would working 52 weeks a year.
