Many D.C.s do them and here are the most common reasons why…
- To justify reducing care, increasing care, re-evaluating the treatment, or releasing/referring out the patient.
- For Med/Legal reasons
- To help “sell” a next stage of care (Correction, Maintenance or Wellness).
I’m not here to give any advice regarding re-exams but I will say this…
If it’s done for marketing purposes, you may want to question its usefulness because if you need to use re-exams to maintain compliance or sell future care, then you are making your practice way more complicated and complex than it needs to be.
Patients make decisions on how they feel… both physically and emotionally.
Rarely by what they are told.
